WOOTS! I'm blogging at this hour cos i have the urge to blog! (:

Today's our last concert with our beloved seniors. ): However, I'm glad that everything ended on a happy note! (: Didnt expect myself to miss them so much, cos after all we've only been tgt for a few months this yr. Perhaps the SYF period was too memorable, that's why we cant bear to let them go!

Over here, I'm gonna make a confession.

I really love my seniors. They are all very nice people! Always so nice, encouraging helpful and kind, especially in guiding us as we grow! Seriously, I'm gonna miss them badly after they leave us, especially those who have been with me since NYCO. Special thanks to:

YILING!- PRES LIM! I'm really grateful to be your junior!! You're a REALLY REALLY GREAT SENIOR, who always encourages me, during tough times, happy times, when i've done something wrong or when i've done smth commendable! really really, a BIG thanks to you! <333

Wanglong- PINEAPPLE! You're also a very nice senior who is also pro in erhu! HAHA! Though u're very pro, you're still very humble and is always willing to help us improve! Not just this, you're also quite encouraging (like yiling!)! It's enjoyable being ur junior! OH! You're a very good president too! GOOD JOB and xin ku ni le!

To the both of you: Haha! You've thanked the three of us for joining suona for many times alrdy! Seriously, we didnt mind at all! In fact, it was a cool experience for us and we enjoyed ourselves! Thanks for giving us this chance and hope we didnt create too much trouble for you guys! Don't worry, though i'm not in HCCO exco, i'll still love HCCO and I'll do my best for HCCO! :D I'm really happy to know you guys! Wish YOU GUYS all the best! *winks*

Xianyue seniors- HAHA! So paiseh for transferring to suona section during the SYF period! Still, it was enjoyable when we passed food around during dazus, doing our xianyue woosh, making fun of certain people (esp randy), gossiping, playing games, eating dinner, stamping our feet tgt before 716563.... etc. Thanks for making co pracs so interesting for us! Our jts SHOULD BE coming soon! (:

Guanyue seniors-Though I only knew you guys for a short period of time, you guys still extended a warm welcome to us (me, ester and laiweng), when we're just temporary Guanyue members. Haha! It was also fun passing around snacks during dazu, esp when the packaging of the snack says 'for everyone except for Gerald'. HAHA! Badminton with you guys was fun too! Esp when we started playing it creatively, using pots, pans, files, bowl(?!), stick etc. instead of normal rackets. HAHA! OH! Thank you Claire for teaching me a new skill -- serving using the 'golf' method. HAHA!

Woodlands gang- OMG YOU GUYS ROCK MY LIFE! LOL! The long journeys home must have been tiring and boring w/o you guys! Since most of you will still stay in this gang, I shall save my words till we're graduating next yr! HAHA! Nevertheless, THANK YOU WEEKIAN AND GERALD for being part of the HCCO Woodlands gang! Going home with you guys is really fun (and hilarious!)! And sorry uh Weekian, we always pangseh you. :P PS: WE SHOULD HAVE A WOODLANDS GANG OUTING SOON! :D

Seniors who have stayed with me since NYCO-It's been a long journey since we knew one another! I'm sure we all share many common memories! Now that you guys are going to leave us, I really cant bear to part cos life would be weird w/o you guys around. Well, do keep those memories deep in our hearts cos they're precious gifts that NYCO and HCCO have given us! (:

Last but not least, I'm determined to post this in my subsequent blog post, until the final result is out. I will not give up till the very last minute, even if my efforts are futile! So MOE, LOOK HERE!

TO MOE:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET HCCO PERFORM FOR SYF SHOWCASE!!!!!!! WE (ok, at least for me) REALLY WANT IT BADLY, not for fame or reputation, but we really want to perform with our seniors again!!! PLEASEEEEEEEEEE GIVE US THE CHANCE!!!!!!!! :(

THANK YOU FOR BEING SUCH GREAT SENIORS WHO GAVE US MANY WONDERFUL MEMORIES!

whoa ok. im very sorry, cos i think im one of those who doesnt keep to promises. yeah, i've given up on my 'thank you list'(too long! and im afraid i'll miss out ppl's name since it's been so long alrdy. :x). however, i really appreciate all those who have encouraged me and wished me good luck for syf! a BIG THANK YOU TO YOU GUYS! <3

Ok. Here's some updates! Gotten into fac comm but not for HCCO's exco. Depressed over HCCO's exco? Haha, actually not really, cos I've more or less expected it since the moment i knew i got into fac comm (perhaps that's not even the reason for me not getting into exco HAHA!). So yup, don't worry about me, cos im still ALIVE AND KICKING! HAHA! However, the feeling's really weird. Just as Layting said, we've been co enthusiasts for so long. All of a sudden, we dont get to serve the orchestra anymore. The feeling is weird, or to be precise, it's kinda empty. Perhaps serving the orchestra has alrdy been a part of our lives and what we need to do now is to get used to this new routine all over again.

Well as for me, life isnt that empty, cos i have fac comm. Similarly, it's weird for me cos I have never expected myself to get into fac comm (yeah, i was just trying my luck when I sat for the interview :x). And the more I've nvr expected myself to take on a leadership role that has to lead the school population (ok, more of 'fac' population). Indeed, I found it a little awkward when we had to lead cheers during csm. :P Well, I guess it takes time to get used to it! (: Furthermore, I've faith that joining fac comm will be a great experience cos i'll be working with a new group of people, serving a different group of people, as well as having a new jobscope. JIAYOU TO ME and ARTEMIS FAC COMM '09-'10 and HCCO EXCO '09-'10!(:

At first, I thought the HC's Arts Fest will be somewhere in July, like Nanyang's. I really didn't expect it to be next Wed! Those who wanna watch me, Ester and Laiweng play suona, come and watch the HC's Arts Fest! Cos this will probably be our last time playing suona. HAHA!

Sighs, I'm feeling very depressed now. Cos that'll be the last time we get to play with our seniors. We dont even get to prac much before the performance. We only have tmr and wed to be tgt! AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! WHY DIDNT WE GET SELECTED FOR SYF SHOWCASE?!?!?!?!??!?!? )))))))))))))))))))))))))): If the info hasnt been disemminated, PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR FINAL DECISION!!!!!

TO MOE:

As much as i want it badly, i guess i have to let go of it. Accept the new fate and be a happy girl living in this world. COME ON, LOOK AT THIS WORLD! It may be full of sadness, but at the same time, there're also many things that make us smile! I'm so glad to know some people cos they are such beautiful sunshines that brighten up my everyday! Wheeeeeee, i really look forward to next wed's class outing! I really hope it'll be a success and our class will get more bonded! :D On a random note, I LOVE MY CLASSMATES! <333

HCCO GOLD WITH HONOURS!!!

Everything has finally come to an end; dusk came and the dream ended. Although the J1s just joined HCCO for barely 2-3 months, strong bonds were forged and wonderful memories were created. Mrs Ee once said, "This is going to be your last SYF. Don't bother about the result, just enjoy the process as much as you can!" I'm sure all of us have done that. In these few months, practices were hectic, especially when we all have to reach school super early for morning prac and end prac late at night, when the moon's out. But everything's worthwhile--- we truly deserve the GWH title not just for our music, but also for our spirit. Among all the SYFs that I've participated, SYF '09 is the most special and memorable one to me, mainly because I played a new instrument. Im also very proud of the three of us, Ester, Laiweng and I, cos we made it, despite learning suona for less than 3 months.

The Journey...

Months ago, Laiweng came to ask Ester and me if we wanted to learn suona to help out with the section as we didn't have enough suona players that time. Initially we agreed to try, somehow, we gradually formed a new suona section for SYF.

On the week that Jin Lao Shi's coming to teach us, the three of us were so paranoid that we got Songsim to give us an 'intro course'. All thanks to Songsim who gave us a feel of how it's like to 'blow a sound' out of the suona. Apparently, our first lesson with Jin Lao Shi was fast and productive. (Oh btw, we spent our V'day with Jls this yr! AHHA! cos it was our first xiaozu!) I think we really rocked! We could play 5 bars of Shu Qing on our first lesson with Jls! After a few weeks, Willie came to crash our xiaozu (cos he wanted to learn suona for fun). I wasn't there cos I had fac cip. But in the end, he also became part of us, joining us for SYF.

Our newly formed SUONA section was real fun! It consisted of ME, Laiweng, Ester, Jasmine, Tammy and Willie. We're hardworking, but naughty and crazy greenhorns. Lol!

HCCO SUONA!

Let's confess how naughty and crazy we were...

- ran all the way to coro during our 15min break to get kitkat chunky (our section food, cos we eat that almost every xiaozu)
- went out of mph for a walk during dazu (cos wls was praccing jiang nan hao's front part which didnt have suona at all), but ended up playing 10min of frisbee
- blew bubbles during dazu (ok, to think of it again, i think we were quite disruptive)

suona section blowing bubbles during dazu

- ate apple struddle at the back of mph during dazu (to celebrate willie's b'day)
- SKIPPED our way to coro to buy snacks (lol!)

suona section eating apple strudle during dazu

- did the 'walk down the stairs' action outside the smtp classroom

The Escalator

- have our very own way of practising chan4 yin1 (A-A-A-A-AH~!)
- attempted to blow a b'day song for Randy but failed. well, at least we succeeded for Zhuoda's. haha!
- gave Chinsian a new nick name, Chin SAM! (Strong And Muscular)
- jasmine created a way to call my name using suona!

HAHA! We're really a crazy bunch right? Haha! As SYF drew closer and we realised that we're really not up to standard, we started to have morning pracs. Sadly, Willie left us about a month before SYF. During that time, Jls was busy with sec sch's syf as well as SCO performances, so he couldnt come for a period of time. We were all very scared that he wouldn't come back anymore cos we only have 5 lessons with him then.

Apart from suona, I also enjoyed my time with XIANYUE!

The Xianyue WHOOSH!

- I always couldnt enter correctly at bar 53, cos bar 52 sound like an entry point. in other words, i always came in 1 bar early n everyone would laugh at me. Stupid Hanyang always pretended to come in at bar 52, made me thought we're really supposed to enter there!
- It's always fun to watch how Yonghui's being bullied by the other seniors. HAHA! - how we always pass/snatch food around
- the unforgettable chapteh session during a Friday's xiaozu, when Limyang's chapteh got stuck and Willie tried very hard to retrieve it
- how we tried to sabotage Randy/Yonghui by leaving him/her to play alone (but our plan foiled cos Wls ended prac before we got to play haha!)
- made new FRIEND (lol!)
- Hanyang invented a way to pull out our bows silently
- Hanqing, Willie and Limyang always played 'tap tap' during dazu
- Poor Limqing always had to turn the aircon on and off for us.
- Weekian who always takes unglam photos of ppl
- Given a new nickname called SHE 拉二胡.
.................
.........
....
(haha paiseh, no photos of xianyue, cos they're all in layting's phone/or with other ppl! do tag me on fb! lol!)

Not forgetting my beloved HCCO WOODLANDS GANG!!!

HCCO WOODLANDS GANG FTW!

- we always have fun gossiping/mass sleep on bus
- had dinner tgt occasionally
- went to school tgt early in the morning for morning pracs
- most imptly, i'll not forget the memorable night (before SYF day) we've spent tgt!

night before SYF (look at the sign that says '961'! this is where we always take our bus to sch!)

etc etc etc....

Oh! I realised smth. I think im very honoured to be part of this gang cos we have FAC PRINCESS, FAC BABE and FAT PRINCE in our gang!!! HAHA! ps: WE SHOULD HAVE A HCCO WOODLANDS GANG OUTING!!!

On top of all these, I'll never forget Randy's inspirational talks, seniors' support and encouragement, as well as the night when we played in the dark. (:

HCCO playing in the dark

THE BIG DAY!

The day that I dreaded the most, because I didnt want everything to come to an end. Oh well, fortunately everything went on very smoothly that day. Was really happy to meet many of my friends from other schools, seniors who have graduated, as well as instructors whom I've met in my life.

It was really funny when wls said he wanna 'complain' SCH for giving us very little time to warm up. LOL! When we were waiting for our turn, I'm sure many of us were very nervous, esp Yuli, Ester, Jasmine, Gerald, Chinsian, Maureen, Louis.... etc. Know what? YOU GUYS DID A FABULOUS JOB!!! :D For some reasons, I could feel my tears swarming around my eyes when we played the bar 200 part of Shu Qing (perhaps it's becos it was touching? but i think it's mainly becos i knew it's ending soon...)

On the same morning, wls's daughter gave birth! What an eventful day isnt it! We also got GWH! hahah! DOUBLE HAPPINESS! We all went crazy after the results were out. Took LOTS of photos and did three cheers for almost everything/everyone! HAHA! Had CO dinner at lao pa sar after the results. Poor Yonghui sat in the middle of 4 tables, surrounding her. AHHA! And yay, cos the xyz seniors treated the juniors to desserts! Lucky me got 2 treats! After that, the shengsuo seniors (Chris Seah and Qiquan) treated us to Ben and Jerry's!

Back to reality....

Sadly everything is over and we gotta get back to the harsh reality--- SCHOOL WORK. Everything seems empty. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are no longer filled with pracs... I think it's a pity that JC life is so short and we can only spend very little time with our seniors. I really hope HCCO will be invited to perform for SYF showcase, cos I WANT TO PLAY SHU QING WITH MY BATCHMATES AND SENIORS AGAIN!!! Thinking of which school to pick? LOOK HERE! CHOOSE HCCO! I REALLY WANT IT BADLY!!!

Haha! Sorry to torture u guys to read such a long post. You know lah, it's rare for me to post, so I gotta type more! HAHA! But I've lost my motivation to blog now. I shall type my 'THANK YOU LIST' in my next post! Trust me, it'll come soon! AHHA!

HCCO, my new love...
